To export a search on the system to excel complete the following steps:
If already in a set of search results:
- Click Actions, then Export
If not in search results:
- Tick all the files you want to export, then click Actions, Show Selected
- Then when in search results for your selected items, click Actions, then Export
- You will then be presented with this page:
- Give your Export a useful name
- You can choose to export the visible metadata or the visible and general metadata.
- You can click Export now and click to download your CSV file (or if relevant, see step 5 below)
-------------------------------------------------only see below if relevant------------------------------------------------- - However, if you want to see the full list of available output fields to choose from, you can do this by switching to graphite - click on your name at top right of BC page, and click 'open in full interface').
- You will be presented with this page, click Advanced:
- Scroll down to the Output Fields section and select the fields you wish to export. As standard, the columns shown in the search results will already be selected. Each tick you add will equate to the equivalent column in the CSV output.(Note: the available options may change depending where you are on the system, or what you are exporting, i.e. files or Issues etc.)
- When you have selected everything you require select "Export Results" in the bottom left of the screen. You can alternatively schedule the report to your inbox at any frequency. (Note if you are exporting more than 1,000 lines of metadata you will need to wait a couple of minutes for the export to complete before your download link is ready.)
- Click on the CSV to download it:
- When finished, return to the Quartz view by selecting it from the top right hand corner.
