Why?

All drawings and models must be uploaded to the CDE with multiple file formats as a rendition.

Preparation

If you have drawings in both .pdf (primary) and .dwg (secondary) format or models in IFC (primary) and any other model format (secondary) then you must put all primary and secondary files in to a zip file (It will only draw out the top level so remember to select all files and send to zip rather than a folder).

  • Gather all files into one folder that you wish to upload including the renditions
  • Files and their renditions must have the same name but with different file/extensions (e.g. "Drawing.dwg", "Drawing.pdf", and "Drawing.dwf"). Case of the document names is ignored.
  • Zip the folder

Note: The zip must not contain any folders or rendition files without primary formats.

Uploading

  • Go to the location in BCDE where you wish to upload your document.
  • Click Add > Documents with Renditions

  • Select Browse and find zip folder locally stored (the zip file does not need to follow the naming convention).
  • Choose MIME Type (primary file type) such as pdf
  • Click "Add Document with Renditions"

How to add Renditions to already files that are already uploaded?

  1. This is something that will need to be done on each file one-by-one, click the Down Arrow next to the file name, and click View Renditions
  2. Then click Add Renditions from Device and attach the Rendition file.
