A map tab will display:

  • In your Home
  • In all spaces

Inside a space, if a Geo Location metadata fields associated with the space has value, the map tab will be centred on the location defined by the field assigned to the space.

The map tab displays the coordinates of all spaces of which you are a member- obtained from the value of the Geo Location metadata field associated with the space. The map tab in your Home is centred on a location calculated by averaging the coordinates of all spaces of which you are a member.

When you are inside a space which has a value for a Geo Location field, the current space is indicated on the map by a star- and the locations of other spaces are indicated by a dot. If you are in a space which does not have a value for this field, all spaces will be indicated by a dot.

For a space to be represented on the map tab:

  • The space must have a value for a Geo Location field
  • The values must be valid GPS coordinates

Clicking on the map tab displays a map. For a space:

  • A star indicates the coordinates associate with the current space, i.e. the geographical location of the project.
  • Clicking on a marker displays all of the metadata values associated with the space where the Geo Location field value is set. This information displays in the ‘Selected’ box on the map.
  • Click Clear to clear this section
  • Use the + to zoom and the – to zoom out
  • Layers- if additional data layers have been made available, these may be superimposed on the map and different layers may be shown or hidden.
  • Categories- the space categories- of the spaces with a value for a Geo Location field are listed.
  • Untick a category to prevent the indicators for spaces using that category from displaying.
