Problem:
If you are trying to upload a rendition to a document that you have access to but are getting the following error message.
Reason:
The following 2 reasons can prevent standard users from being able to upload renditions to primary documents:
- The primary documents has already been issued
- The primary documents has invalid metadata
Troubleshoot:
- Confirm file name and location of the primary document you are trying to upload a rendition to (i.e. from a collection, not from search results)
- Check that you do indeed have access to the document
- Confirm that the primary document has not been issued - look for the issuing icon next to the file name
- Confirm that the primary document has all valid metadata - look for the invalid metadata icon next to the file name
Resolution:
If the primary document has been issued then only a user with superior rights (i.e. the user that received the issue or a system admin) will be able to upload the rendition.
If the primary document has got invalid metadata ask the user to correct the metadata before trying to upload the rendition.
